Ingredients
1 1/4LBground beef
1/2cuponiondiced
1/2cupgreen bell pepperchopped
1teaspoongarlicminced (I use garlic from the jar)
1teaspoonchili powder
1teaspoondry mustard
1/2teaspoonred pepper flakes
1/4teaspooncoarse black pepper
1 1/2teaspoonkosher salt
1/2cupbrown sugar
1teaspoonworcestershire sauce
1cupketchup
1/2- 1cupwaterstart with 1/2 cup and more as needed if too thick
Instructions
Crumble and brown the ground beef in a dutch oven, or large saucepan, over a medium heat. Drain the grease.
Add the onion, green peppers, garlic, chili powder, dry mustard, pepper flakes, black pepper, salt, and brown sugar. Stir to combine well. Simmer over a low heat 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently.
Whisk together the worcestershire sauce, ketchup, and 1/2 cup water. Stir into the meat mixture, and simmer on low for 15-20 minutes. Cook uncoverered and stir frequently. If mixture seems too thick, add more water, small amount at a time.
Notes
