This yummy, easy to make, Halloween Chex Mix is always a hit with our family and friends.
A combination of Chex cereal, Gardetto’s Original Snack Mix, cashews, yogurt pretzels, and a variety of candies make this Halloween Chex Mix the perfect treat.
I always make Chex mix for any occasion, and use candies that go with that particular season.
This recipe is a smaller one for Halloween, but you can easily double or triple the recipe if you need to. For Christmas, I usually make 3 turkey roasters full of it, divide it into party bags, and give it to friends and neighbors.
INGREDIENTS:
These are the ingredients I used, but you can add any other treats you find that you want to add. Some other ingredients you could add are raisins, Reese’s pieces, and candy eyeballs.
*Rice Chex Cereal (any variety of chex cereal works, we like this one)
*Gardetto’s Original Recipe Snack Mix (this has a variety of snack ingredients, so I don’t have to buy so many different ones)
*Cashews
*Candy Corn
*Yogurt covered pretzels
*M&M’s (use colors that coordinate with the holiday)
*Cookie shaped cones with chocolate center (Home Goods/Target)
*Butter
*Worcestershire sauce
*Seasoned salt
*Garlic Powder
*Onion Powder
HOW TO MAKE HALLOWEEN CHEX MIX:
*Preheat oven to 250 degrees F.
*Place the stick of butter in a large baking pan. (I used a disposable
9×13 aluminum pan, with high sides.) set pan in the oven until butter melts.
*Remove pan from the oven and whisk in the worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.
*Gently stir the Chex mix into the butter mixture, return to oven. Bake for 8 minutes, stir gently, return to oven for another 8 minutes. Repeat 2 more times for a total of 32 minutes.
*Line a large baking sheet with paper towels. Spread the Gardetto’s on the pan. Remove Chex mix from the oven and pour over the snack mix. (This will add some of the seasoning flavor to it). Allow mixture to cool at least an hour.
*Arrange remaining candies, pretzels, and cookies throughout.
At this point you can place the mixture in Ziploc bags to store for later use, create snack bags as gifts, or arrange mix onto Halloween themed party dishes.
I used fall colored M&M’s in another batch.

HALLOWEEN CHEX MIX
Ingredients
- 8 Tablespoons butter
- 2 Tablespoons worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoons seasoned salt
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 5 cups Chex cereal (rice preferred but any works)
- 3 cups Gardetto's Original Snack Mix
- 1 1/2 cups cashews
- 1/2 cup M&M's
- 1/2 cup mini cone cookies (or any mini cookie)
- 1/2-1 cup candy corn (my family prefers a lot)
- 1/2 cup yogurt covered pretzels
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 250 degrees F,
- Place the butter in a large baking dish. (I use 9x13 disposable aluminum pan with tall sides.) Set pan in the oven until butter is melted. Remove from the oven.
- Whisk in the worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Gently stir in the chex cereal to coat as much as possible. Return pan to the oven. Bake for 8 minutes, then stir, and return to oven for 8 more minutes. Repeat this 2 more times, for a total of 32 minutes.
- Spread the Gardetto's snack mix in the center of a paper towel lined baking sheet. Remove the chex cereal from the oven, pour over the Gardetto's. Allow to cool for at least 1 hour.
- Arrange the cashews, M&M's, cookies, candy corn, and pretzels.
- Place into Ziploc bags for later use, fill snack bags, or arrange on Halloween themed party dishes.
