Vegetable Pizza Dip is a great appetizer idea that I have been seeing all over the internet. I decided to try it during the Super Bowl, and it was a big hit at our house.
A creamy dip made with cream cheese, sour cream, mayo, a Ranch dressing packet, a mixture of veggies, cheese and bacon. It is served cold with a variety of breads, crackers, chips, and celery sticks.
I have been serving, and eating, vegetable pizza since the 1970’s. It was the go to food at any gathering. One of the things that I have always liked about it, is how versatile you can make it.
I made this LOADED FOOTBALL VEGGIE PIZZA to enjoy during football season. CHRISTMAS CRESCENT APPETIZER WREATH is a family favorite. These are both vegetable pizza recipes.
St Patrick’s Day is next month, so I thought it would be fun to create an appetizer tray using this dip.
HOW TO MAKE VEGETABLE PIZZA DIP WITH BACON:
(Printable recipe card in post with exact amounts and directions)
INGREDIENTS:
Cream Cheese: Soften to room temperature so it will be easier to mix with the other ingredients.
Sour Cream: Adds flavor and smoothness.
Mayonnaise: Adds moisture, flavor and texture. (this got missed in the picture)
Ranch Seasoning Packet: I always use Hidden Valley Ranch. Adds the seasonings and flavor.
Vegetables: Use any variety your family/guests like. Do a variety for extra color. Dice them very small so that the dip can be spread on a cracker. WEAR GLOVES when working with jalapenos.
Bacon: This is an optional ingredient, but my family loves bacon and ranch flavors together. Cook the bacon crisp and crumble it very small.
Cheese: Use a finely shredded cheddar. I even chop it smaller so that it can be spread easy on crackers. Save some back to sprinkle on the top of the dip.
Breads-Crackers-pretzel crisps-tortilla chips: Use your favorites of these to spread the dip on. For this tray, I baked a crescent dough crust and cut stars and shamrocks out for it. Our favorite is the garlic flavored bagel chips.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Chop all of the vegetables and cook the bacon.
Place cream cheese in a large mixing bowl. Beat until smooth, using an electric mixer on a medium speed, then add the sour cream, ranch packet, and mayonnaise. Beat ingredients together until well combined.
Add the diced vegetables, cheese, and bacon. Save 1/4 cup of cheese, and 1 tablespoon of bacon out to sprinkle on top. Combine all of the ingredients using a low to medium speed on the mixer.
Spread the dip in a serving dish and sprinkle the remaining cheese and bacon on top. Serve with desired crackers and breads,

WHY EVEYONE WILL LOVE THIS VEGETABLE PIZZA DIP:
It is quick and easy to make. Any combination of vegetables can be used. It is colorful and has a variety of textures and flavors.
The ingredients are usually in our kitchen. A can of crescent dough is what we usually need to buy, and it is not needed for this dip.
It can be served at any gathering year around. Just serve on dishes appropriate for the occasion.
This dip can be served immediately after making, or cover and refrigerate until needed later. It can also be transported easily, making it the perfect recipe to take to a covered dish.
Last but not least, it serves a lot of people.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Can I make this dip ahead of time?
YES! Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator
Can this dip be frozen?
No. I did test this and it became watery. The cream cheese tends to separate and make the texture grainy.

I will be making this appetizer tray for my family on St Patrick’s Day. I did bake a crescent dough crust to cut out the stars and shamrocks.
