Pulled Pork Pimento Cheese Sliders

These Pulled Pork Pimento Cheese Sliders are the perfect combination of two Southern favorites—tender, flavorful pulled pork and warm, melty, homemade pimento cheese—all served on soft slider buns.

They are easy to make, full of bold flavor, and perfect for cookouts, game day, or any casual get-together.

Pulled pork has always been a staple at our family gatherings. Since most of our family lives in the South, it’s one of those dishes that shows up at just about every get-together.

Last week, my sweet neighbor Amy shared some leftover pulled pork from a party, and I had just made a fresh batch of homemade pimento cheese. I had been wanting to try the two together, and this was the perfect opportunity.

My husband and I enjoyed these sliders for lunch that day, and they were an instant favorite!

Pimento Cheese can be made so many different ways and they are all delicious. These make great party appetizers.

Helpful Tips/Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of bread can I use?
Slider buns are the most common. They are available in wheat, white, brioche, and butter rolls. The sliders can be served with the buns toasted or not.

Hawaiian rolls are also great. If you want to make several at one time, slice the rolls with a serrated knife, horizontally in half.  Spread pimento cheese on the bottom, top with pulled pork and more pimento cheese. Place in a pan, wrap with foil and heat in a 300-degree F oven for about 10 minutes.

Can I make them ahead of time?
YES. Cook the meat 1-2 days ahead and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. If I do this, I always leave a lot of the broth it was cooked in on it so that it will not become too dry.

Make the pimento cheese 1-2 days ahead, store it in an airtight container and refrigerate.

Can I use store-bought pulled pork?
Yes! This recipe works great with homemade or store-bought pulled pork.

Make individual sliders as you want if you are just serving 1 or 2 people.

If you are serving a crowd, set up a buffet with the pork on “warm” heat in a crockpot. The pimento cheese can also be in a smaller crockpot and set on “warm”. Set out the buns, pickles, BBQ sauce and maybe some jalapenos.  Your guests can assemble their own sliders.
