CAMO CUPCAKES CREATED IN KIDS COOKING CLASS

These camo cupcakes were a big hit at my grandson’s 4 year old birthday party. camo cupcakes. kids cooking class

Last week my 2 little grandsons from NC came to stay with me for 4 days.  One of them has an August 1st birthday.  He had his birthday party with friends and NC family before they came to visit. We wanted to have a little party with his WV family while he was here.  He requested a camo birthday party because he loves camo!  It was also birthday week for his Uncle David.  I was having a kids cooking class with them the day before the party, so I decided we would make foods to take to the party.  His 6 year old brother wanted to make camo cupcakes and they turned out so cute. HOMEMADE CINNAMON ROLLS & KIDS COOKING CLASS

These beautiful, homemade cinnamon rolls are so delicious, and were made by some of my granddaughters at this week’s Kids Cooking Class.

The best Homemade Cinnamon Rolls, made with grandchildren. Recipe is Pioneer Woman. The past few classes we have been working on breakfast recipes.  We have done simple things like cooking bacon and eggs to making souffles, wraps, quiche, omelets, a crostada, and French toast.  I wanted to teach them the art of making homemade cinnamon rolls, even if only this one time in their life.  I know that most people don’t take time to do this anymore but I want them to remember doing this with me.   Continue reading HOMEMADE CINNAMON ROLLS & KIDS COOKING CLASS

COOKING WITH THE GRANDCHILDREN

Cooking with the GrandchildrenI have always loved to be in the kitchen creating recipes and cooking with the grandchildren.

They know how I love to cook, bake, and enter cooking contests and I think that excitement has been passed on to them. They have been the inspiration for many of my contest recipes.

When they are small, we move a stool over to the kitchen counter or bring their small table into the kitchen. As they grow older, they have taken over the kitchen at times. They will even call me to tell me an idea they had for a recipe.  See how much fun we have baking and cooking together!
